A reminder that in addition to the Indianapolis history content published here on Class900Indy.com, and my social media feeds, I also host a podcast called Yesterday's Indianapolis, which explores the history of Indianapolis and central Indiana. Episodes thus far have just been solo affairs, but the most recent episode includes a guest, Deedee Davis, a historian from the Indianapolis City/County Archives. My discussion with Deedee covers the discovery of over three hundred glass negatives taken by Indianapolis resident Osbert Sumner. The photos taken by Sumner cover a wide variety of locations in Indianapolis at the turn of the 20th century, as well additional photos from Sumner's birthplace in Canada. The photos are now the subject of an exhibit at the Irvington Historical Society, and a new book authored by Davis and Steven J. Schmidt, the cover of which can be seen below.
