If you follow me on social media, you likely have seen me promoting my first book, Vanished Indianapolis, published this past week by Arcadia Publishing the History Press. The book explores historical locations throughout Indianapolis that have long since disappeared, been replaced, or undergone some type of reuse. A few chapters expand upon some older blog posts from this site, while others cover new topics and locations from the history of the Circle City. The book may be purchased directly from the publisher, and through Amazon, or at local retailers.
Also, on Tuesday, September 12 I will be hosting a book launch party at Hoagies & Hops restaurant and Chilly Water Tap Room at 4155 Boulevard Pl, Indianapolis, IN 46208 in Butler-Tarkington from 5-6:30 pm. Food will be provided, while drinks from Chilly Water will be available for purchase. I spent many hours at both Hoagies and Chilly Water typing away on the manuscript for this book, so their location for this launch is doubly appropriate, even beyond their good food and drink. All are welcome to attend. Books will be available for purchase on site, but even if you don't pick one up, stop by and we can chat some Indianapolis history.
